Dan Schlager, MD

Dan Schlager, in the early 1990’s , developed GPS wireless technology enabling people to be located when they dialed 911. His company licensed the technology to cell phone companies before selling their patents to a consortium of Apple, Google and Blackberry. Schlager holds over 25 patents and is now working on lightning protection garments utilizing metallic fibers and nanotechnology. He attended Brandeis University and earned his MD from George Washington University. Schlager has been a clinical professor of emergency medicine since 2016 at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Tucson, where he completed his residency training and served as chief resident. He also served as a phase 1 medical director of the St. Johns Center for Clinical Research near Jacksonville, Florida and an investigator for the Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research. He has volunteered on multiple National Geographic expeditions traveling to over 100 countries.
