Chris has over 25 years’ experience practicing Industrial Organizational Psychology as a leader of Talent functions within Fortune 100 organizations and as an external consultant. In addition, he has lectured at notable institutions of higher education, published his research in highly respected journals and been featured as a keynote speaker at several national conferences. His breadth of experience working in corporate, consulting, and entrepreneurial settings combined with academic teaching and research, gives Chris a firm foundation in the fundamentals of I/O psychology while serving to advance its frontiers. He is recognized and most sought for his innovative organizational consulting, keen psychological assessment, and trusted coaching. After taking his PhD at Georgia Tech, Chris joined BellSouth, managing succession planning and conducting thousands of executive assessments. As deregulation changed the landscape of telecommunications, Chris led the transformation of BellSouth’s assessment centers to create an aggressive, market-driven, development-oriented program. He joined MCI, to salvage a failed workforce planning effort, gaining trust and driving changes in leadership development. At Coca-Cola his research changed the company’s expatriate strategy. When Chris joined Burger King he worked with Diageo, BKC’s parent company, to build a suite of leadership development programs. Upon the divestiture of BKC from Diageo, his focus turned to organization design and development as he built entire functions previously supported by Diageo. His research in restaurant operations revolutionized the scientific community’s view of employee turnover as a “replacement cost” to a much more costly “operations deficiency” with causal impact on sales. Further research revealed the causal impact of restaurant leadership on employee turnover which informed (and funded) Chris’ design of the largest, most financially impactful personality based selection system of its time. At Talentlift, Chris has led many large-scale, evidence-based engagements, i.e., working with State Department of Children and Families to hire over 1000 social workers; using advanced statistics with sales and operations data from a global food company to identify “key positions” for developmental priority. Currently, Chris spends most of his time coaching executives and providing career guidance to individuals experiencing particularly challenging career decisions and situations. Working closely with individuals as a trusted coach is where he now feels most meaningful -- personally and professionally.
